CORONADO ISLAND
Enjoy this Jewel in the Sea of the Sea of Cortez.
Island Day Tours in the Loreto Bay National Marine Park
The Coronado Island tour is a “must-do” for anyone visiting Loreto. In just twenty-five minutes from the Loreto Mariana you’ll be swimming with the Sea Lions, exploring bird rookeries, and searching for dolphins. Snorkeling from the boat is a fantastic way to observe the Marine life below. After circumnavigating (in good weather) the island, we picnic at the lovely white sandy beaches for more exploration. In the cooler months, stroll inland to explore the fascinating dune habitat. Public shade palapas and “rustic” bathroom facilities are available on this island.

Frequently Asked Questions
Isla Coronados is an inactive volcano. Andesite and Basalt flows shape the walls that make up the Eastern side, while decaying ancient coral reef composes the Western side and makes the beautiful white sand beaches.
It’s never 100% safe to swim with wild animals however we’ve never had an incident during our tours. Of course we keep a safe distance from their rocks and don’t try to pet them. Its wonderful to snorkel near their colony and watch them zoom by and play with eachother. Please note: From Mid June to about Mid July the Sea Lions are not in the area.
Yes indeed we do. We provide a round trip shuttle for you and your family, from Villas Del Palmar, to Loreto for $1,200.00 pesos. You can add this service when you fill out the booking form.
Swimming with dolphins or whales in the Sea of Cortez is not permitted. If a dolphin passes by while we are in the water, no worries; however, they probably won’t stay for long as they tend to be shy with swimmers. They enjoy swimming along the boat’s bow and leaping out of the water in the bow wake.
Yes! Tipping is a standard practice and very much appreciated. While there’s a huge range as to how much to tip, 10-15% of your trips total is a safe bet
